As the most precious variety of jewelry, diamonds are mostly colorless and transparent. Have you found colored diamonds? This is because colored diamonds are very rare. The rough diamond that can be mined is about 100 million carats, and less than 10% can become gem-quality diamonds. Colored diamonds can only occupy one-thousandth of this percentage. Today we are going to introduce the protagonist— -Purple diamonds are one of the rarest colors in colored diamonds

Purple diamonds are a rare color among colored diamonds, but the color of purple diamonds is generally not pure purple. Most purple diamonds have a pink tone, which is soft and beautiful. Natural purple diamonds are also produced in few places, and are currently only produced in Russia and Australia. The formation conditions of natural purple diamonds are very harsh, resulting in extremely scarce production. Moreover, the number of carats of purple diamonds produced is generally small, and purple diamonds with more than one carat are rarely produced.

At present, there are only two famous purple diamonds in the world. One of them is called the Royal Purple Heart. The Royal Purple Heart is produced in Russia and is the largest known fancy-cut purple diamond, weighing 7.34 carats. The other is called the Supreme Purple Heart. The existence of this Supreme Purple Heart has been a mystery so far, because it has never been seen in public, and few know its specific size and clarity. I only know that it will appear dark purple from one angle, and dark red from another angle.

Purple diamonds are so rare that they are generally hard to see in the jewelry market. Usually, a purple diamond with a slight purple hue costs hundreds of thousands of dollars.
