Diamond grades are distinguished according to four dimensions, namely the 4C parameters of diamonds (carat, clarity, color, and cut).
Diamond weight(Carat)
The weight of a diamond is an important factor affecting the price of a diamond. The larger the diamond in nature, the rarer it is. Therefore, the larger the carat number, the more expensive the diamond.
Diamond clarity
Diamond is a natural mineral. It contains some other minerals or natural flaws such as cracks. The fewer these inclusions, the rarer and the higher the value. Therefore, it depends on the size, number, color, location and characteristics of the inclusions and other flaws. The clarity of the diamond is divided into different levels. The classification of clarity grades is based on ten times magnification observation as the standard. Completely pure diamonds are the most popular but also the most expensive.
From high to low, it is divided into: FL-IF-VVS1-VVS2-VS1-VS2-SI1-SI2-I1-I2-I3, FL is the highest grade (perfect), IF can only see very small surface features Connotation, VVS1 and VVS2 have very small connotations, one is extremely hard to see, the other is hard to see; VS1 and VS2 have very small connotations, one is very difficult to see, one is hard to see; SI1 has small connotations , It is extremely difficult to see, the inclusions are hard to see with the naked eye; SI2 has small contents, the inclusions are visible with the naked eye
Diamond color
Diamonds have a variety of natural colors, ranging from precious colorless (white after cutting), rare light blue and pink to common yellowish. The more transparent and colorless, the more penetrable the white, and the more colorful after refraction and dispersion. Diamond color grading is determined by the technicians repeatedly comparing the diamond to be graded with the standard colorimetric stone in the grading environment of a professional laboratory.
The whitest diamond is classified as D grade (that is, starting from the first letter of Diamond). Color---determines the yellow and white degree of the diamond. The color of diamonds is divided into 11 levels, which are: D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N. The closer to the D color, the more transparent the diamond, the I~J color can hardly feel the color with the naked eye, the more yellow the K color is.
The color of diamonds is D, E, F. They are also called transparent and colorless. They are extremely precious and rare. The difference between them must be carefully distinguished by experts; the more common one is that the color is from G to J, also known as close to nothing. color. Experts are easier to distinguish, but it is difficult for ordinary people to distinguish, and it is even more difficult to detect if it is mounted on jewelry; the color is below K, also known as light yellow, ordinary people may be able to distinguish, but the price is significantly cheaper.
Diamond cut
Exquisite cutting can make up for the flaws of the diamond itself to a certain extent, making the diamond more dazzling. The diamond color grade divides the cut into 5 grades: excellent, very good, good, fair, and poor.
