Cut: CUT
Standard round diamonds have 57 or 58 facets. The quality of the cut directly affects the sparkle of the diamond. The cut can affect 40% of the diamond price. The international standard uses three dimensions: cutting, polishing, and symmetry to measure the quality of the cut.
Each dimension has five levels, from high to low:
EXCELLENT: perfect
VERY GOOD: Very good
GOOD: Good
FAIR: General
POOR: very bad
When the three parameters of cutting, polishing and symmetry are all EXCELLENT, we call it 3EX perfect cut diamonds. Customers who customize loose diamonds usually require perfect cuts. We can flexibly control when we recommend them, like a one-carat diamond. If the cut is slightly reduced, the price will be a few thousand yuan, so the price of a perfectly cut diamond will be higher.
The common heart and arrow cut in the retail market is actually a cutting method, also called Cupid cut. With a cutting mirror, 8 symmetrical hearts can be seen from above, and 8 arrows can be seen from the bottom. This kind of optical phenomenon does not mean that eight hearts and eight arrows are equivalent to a perfect cut. Similarly, there are twelve hearts and twelve arrows, ten hearts and ten arrows, a hundred-sided cut, sixteen hearts and sixteen arrows.
